Urban Landscaping with Native Plants: In-Person Plant Talk

Sponsor:  King Conservation District

After several years of virtual-only native plant talks it it time to gather in-person again to share our love of native plants! Join KCD staff at Flying Lion Brewery in Columbia City (Seattle) for a FREE, in-person, native plant talk.

The talk will cover the many benefits that native plants provide, even in highly developed urban landscapes. We will discuss selecting and installing your plants, ways to reduce plant mortality in addition to the many benefits of native plants. We will also go over considerations if you only have a small area to install native plants and how using them can still lead to environmental, aesthetic, and cost saving benefits. There will be a Q&A time to get your questions answered and meet other community members interested in native plants.

Flying Lion is kid and dog friendly. They don’t serve food but you are welcome to bring in your own to enjoy during the talk. Beer, cider, and non-alcoholic options are available for purchase.

Attendees will receive a $10 discount (on orders over $50) for the KCD Native Plant Sale to purchase your own native plants. View the native plants available for purchase and learn more at https://kingcd.org/native-plant-sale.
